DL-Phenylalanine, also known as DLPA, contains different forms of the essential amino acid Phenylalanine.

The “L” form is a natural substances normally found in protein rich foods. L-Phenylalanine is also thought to be helpful in boosting mood elevating chemicals in the brain like Dopamine and Norepinephrine.

The “D” form of this amino acid is made synthetically. D-Phenylalanine is thought to have an effect upon how the brain and nervous system interpret and respond to pain throughout the body.
